1. The speed of the printing machine;
2. The type of substrate;
3. The circulation path of the ink;
4. Climate conditions, generally the normal drying temperature is 25~30℃, with a relative humidity of 65~75%.
Requirements that the formulated ink must meet
The gravure ink formulated according to the above principles must meet the following requirements:
1. It should have a vivid hue, high saturation, and good transparency or opacity;
2. It should have good printability, meaning good leveling, transferability, adhesion, and appropriate viscosity;
3. It should have an appropriate drying speed to accommodate overprinting and rewinding;
4. It should have good flexibility and resistance to abrasion, heat, solvents, and processing.
Method for adjusting ink color
When mixing ink, it is necessary to determine which types of ink to use for mixing based on the hue analyzed from the original manuscript. White ink is the main color, and peacock blue is the auxiliary color, which should be added slightly; if a deeper color is needed, a small amount of Prussian blue can be added. As long as the main color is determined, the other colors are auxiliary and should be gradually added in small amounts and mixed evenly. Then, use two pieces of paper, applying a little of the mixed ink on one piece and scraping it with the other to achieve the thickness of the ink layer for printing, comparing it with the original manuscript to see if it is suitable. When comparing with the sample, it is more accurate to look at the areas where the ink layer is relatively thin and light. Another principle to keep in mind when mixing ink is to use as few different colors of ink as possible; that is, if two colors can achieve the desired result, do not use three colors to avoid reducing the gloss of the ink. On the other hand, the scraped sample's ink color should be slightly darker than the original color, so that the printed color sample will be more accurate. Once the ink color for the small sample is adjusted, it can be mixed in bulk according to their respective ink ratios to ensure the quality of the ink mixing and improve work efficiency.
